1. What is my evidence?

The following photographs and video recordings demonstrate the variety of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) incorporated throughout the unit.


















2. At which career stage am I demonstrating the standard? 

I believe I am demonstrating this standard at the Proficient level - Use effective teaching strategies to integrate ICT into learning and teaching programs to make selected content relevant and meaningful. 


3. How does the evidence demonstrate the standard

I believe this video demonstrates evidence of the standard outlined above by integrating ICT into my teaching practices in the classroom. Throughout the unit, students used individual laptops to access shared documents and to research information on their specific roles within the community. Click here to view a document shared with the students during the Tune in phase and to assist with their research. 

The use of the interactive whiteboard was utilised regularly to view segments from Behind the News such as; The Black Saturday fires and How to create a news report - which was relevant for the students final assessment task.

For the students culminating assessment task, they were required to respond to the big question: Are you ready?, from different viewpoints of various community members within the Townsville region.

The video clip above depicts a news reporter interviewing and asking specific questions to different community members based on their role in the community... The overarching question was "Are you ready?" 
Students sat in identified groups (different community members - police, fire, councilor and homeowner) and researched and responded to all questions - this demonstrated their understanding of the content covered within the Geography unit.
