1. What is my evidence?

The photographs below of my classroom rules, rights and responsibilities are examples of how I demonstrate this standard.

2. At which career stage am I demonstrating the standard?

I believe I am demonstrating this standard at the Proficient stage - Establish and implement inclusive and positive interactions to engage and support all students in classroom activities and Establish and maintain orderly and workable routines to create an environment where student time is spent on learning tasks.

3. How does the evidence demonstrate the standard?

Throughout my IBL unit, I was very impressed with the level of participation from my students; even some of my more reluctant learners through various activities such as The Hot Potato activity and What's in a picture.
My students really enjoyed the opportunity to work in small groups and discuss their knowledge on the topic and as I walked around the classroom, it was really pleasing to see all group members contributing to the discussion, either by writing the responses or sharing their knowledge on the question.
The pictures below demonstrate the Hot Potato activity, where groups where given a question to discuss and a time limit to share their thoughts and responses to the question, before passing it on to the next group.
At the end of the activity, the class collated their responses and shared with the group.

  1. The commentary clearly outlines your demonstration of the standard--establishing and maintaining a safe and supportive learning environment. Are you going to upload the relevant photographs, Chris?
